Artefacts found on the Headland

                              calf mould

             a shoe

These are just two of the artefacts found during excavations on the Headland. The first is a mould in the shape of a calf and the second is a shoe. Both of these are very rarely found, the mould because they are very fragile and easily lost. The second because leather doesn't usually survive, except in very particular circumstances, when it is in waterlogged ground, for example.
