Grindon Church and graveyard, remains of

The remains of St. Thomas A' Becket church at Grindon, Stockton-on-Tees. Originally built in the twelfth century but was substantially rebuilt in 1190 by Bishop Pudsey. The chapel on the South side of the Chancel was added in the 14th century. Rebuilt in 1788, the monument was eventually abandoned in 1848. Numerous examples of ridge and furrow earthworks in surrounding fields.
