Medieval motte of Castle Levington

Photography taken 05/08/77. Scheduled ancient monument. Ringwork/motte, at an angle of a steep scarp. No attached bailey. Earthern breastwork round the top is in coog condition and retains its entrance on the south and its inner platform. Outer slope of motte is slightly flattened. Fieldwalking revealed 'native' and Romano-British pottery on site.
