Public Services Tees Archaeology is one of the country’s leading archaeological services with a national reputation for excellence. We have provided a high quality, professional service to people and businesses across the Teesside area and further afield for over 25 years. The service recently undertook a Best Value Review and received a maximum score of two, three-star awards. The service currently has six permanent members of staff and draws on the expertise of local freelance archaeologists for particular projects. Administratively we are a shared service of the four unitary authorities of Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees. Hartlepool is our lead authority and the service is based at Sir William Gray House in the centre of the town.
