Getting Involved Getting Involved Archaeology is a subject that fascinates many people. It allows them to learn about their community and its past and to learn new skills. If you are one of these people and would like to get involved there are a number of ways you can do so. Attend a Tees Archaeology Event Tees Archaeology organises a range of events with our partners including guided walks, talks, annual day-schools, exhibitions and open days at excavations. Check our events page for upcoming activities. Volunteer for an excavation. Many people make a start in archaeology by volunteering on a local excavation. We run projects where volunteers are welcome (see our events page for forthcoming projects). As places are limited volunteers must pre-book to guarantee a place. Booking forms are usually sent out at least 6 weeks before an project begins. If you would like to receive a booking form please send us your details and indicate which project you are interested in. Join us on work experience We have a limited number of places for school and college students on work experience. This may be site or office based depending on the projects we are working on at the time of your placement. Again booking is essential.
