Stob House Farm

Extensive and complex cropmark enclosure site near Stob House Farm, Newton Bewley. The cropmarks occupy a gravel ridge east of the old A19. The cropmarks have been identified as four sub-rectangular enclosures one of which contained marks indicative of sunken floored buildings typically associated with Anglo-Saxon settlement. Further cropmarks to the north and south suggest the area formed part of a larger settlement.
