Newton Bewley and Medieval land use around modern day settlement. First recorded in the 14th century, the current settlement takes the form of two rows of properties facing each other over what was the green but is now the A689 dual carriageway. The extent of the village remains similar to its medieval size. There are some surviving examples of ridge and furrow (SMR 0555 & 0556). There is also an extant mill tower (SMR 0622).
