Greta Bridge

Greta Bridge fort, possibly MAGLONA, is 3.5 acres in area and was defended by a single rampart and ditch except on the south side where double stone-faced ramparts and a ditch are broken by a central gateway 25ft wide. A dedication slab to Septimius Severus, Antoninus Pius and Geta was found near the north gate in 1793, and is now in the Bowes Museum.
